Contrast, brightness, and saturation change different aspects of the page. Trying them individually helps visitors find a comfortable presentation without applying an entire profile.

Open the widget and expand Settings to find the controls enabled for the website.

Contrast

Contrast cycles between the original presentation, increased contrast, and reduced contrast.

Increased contrast makes visual differences stronger. Reduced contrast softens those differences. The later step is therefore not a second increase in strength.

For example, a visitor may prefer stronger differences on a pale page but a softer presentation on a page with very sharp light and dark areas. Check both text and controls after making a change.

Brightness

Brightness offers two brighter levels and a dark presentation before returning to the original setting.

Try a brighter level when content appears too dim. Try the dark option when the original page feels too bright. These are changes to the website presentation; they do not change the brightness of the physical display.

The theme button in the widget header is separate. It changes the panel's appearance rather than selecting the page's Brightness setting. The backoffice may refer to the corresponding page control as Color invert.

Saturation

Saturation cycles through the original colours, increased colour intensity, and monochrome presentation.

The stronger-colour option may make some coloured areas easier to notice. Monochrome removes colour variation and can provide a quieter appearance.

If a chart or status indicator relies on colour, monochrome can make its distinctions harder to interpret. Restore the original colours when those distinctions are important.

Example workflow

  1. Open a paragraph and a nearby button that you want to use.
  2. Try one Contrast setting and check both elements.
  3. Return to the original contrast before comparing Brightness.
  4. Add a Saturation change only if it helps.

Combining filters can produce a different result from using each alone. Recheck the page after adding another adjustment.

Manual contrast and Smart Contrast

Manual Contrast applies a broad visual adjustment. Smart Contrast evaluates supported text against its background and adjusts text colours where needed. Read Using Smart Contrast for that workflow.

Undo a change

Continue selecting the relevant control until it returns to the original setting. Use Reset if you want to clear all widget adjustments.

For individual colour-filter controls, see Using Colour Filters.
