SimplifyAccess connects to your website through a generated JavaScript embed code.
The code is specific to the website controller selected in your SimplifyAccess account. Once added to the website, it loads the configured accessibility widget and connects the website to the corresponding settings, profiles, tools, and prepared content managed in the platform.
The widget is installed by adding the generated script near the end of the website’s HTML <body> element.
Before you begin
Before installing the widget, make sure that:
You have an active SimplifyAccess subscription.
A controller has been created for the website.
The correct website domain is assigned to that controller.
You have permission to edit the website code or deployment files.
You know which shared template or layout is used across the website.
When you do not manage the website code yourself, send the generated embed code and this guide to your developer, development team, agency, or technical service provider.
Open the Widget Settings
Sign in to SimplifyAccess.
Select the controller for the website you want to connect.
Open Widget Settings.
Locate the Embed card.
The Embed card contains the JavaScript module generated for the selected website.
Always confirm that the correct controller is selected before copying the code. Embed codes generated for another controller may connect the website to the wrong configuration.
Copy the generated embed code
Use the copy action in the Embed card to copy the complete script.
Do not modify:
The script URL
The controller or client identifier
The module type
Any other generated attributes
Changing part of the generated code can prevent the widget from loading or connecting to the correct controller.
Add the script to your website
Paste the complete script near the end of the website’s <body> element, directly before the closing </body> tag.
A simplified page structure may look like this:
<!-- Website content -->
<script
type="module"
src="https://app.simplify-access.com/accessibility.js"
data-client-id="YOUR-GENERATED-ID">
</script>
</body>
Use the exact code shown in your SimplifyAccess account. The example above only demonstrates the intended location.
Why the script belongs at the end of the body
Placing the script near the end of the body allows the main page content to be available before the widget module is loaded.
It also provides one consistent installation point for websites that use a shared layout or template.
The script should normally be included once per page. Adding it more than once can cause duplicate loading or unexpected widget behaviour.
Add it to a shared website layout
Where possible, add the script to a shared website-wide template, layout, footer file, or equivalent global code area.
This allows the widget to load across all relevant pages without adding the script separately to every page.
The exact location and deployment process depend on how the website was built. SimplifyAccess does not require a particular content management system, framework, hosting provider, or development workflow.
Your developer or technical team should determine the correct shared location for the website.
Publish the website change
After adding the script:
Save the modified template or source file.
Build the website when a build process is required.
Publish or deploy the change.
Open a page on the configured public domain.
Testing only in a local development environment may not be sufficient because the controller is associated with the configured website domain.
Confirm that the widget appears
After the updated website has been published, open one of its public pages.
The SimplifyAccess widget control should appear in the configured position.
Open the widget and confirm that:
The panel loads correctly.
The expected profiles, settings, and tools are available.
The widget appearance matches the selected configuration.
The page remains usable after the widget loads.
The exact available controls depend on the controller settings and the active subscription.
Verify the connection in SimplifyAccess
Return to the dashboard and review the Widget & Controller status.
The dashboard can help confirm whether:
The controller is active.
The widget is connected.
The detected domain matches the configured domain.
The website is using the intended controller.
It may take a short time for the platform to detect a newly published installation.
Refresh the dashboard after opening the updated website.
Use the correct embed code for each website
Each website should use the embed code generated for its own controller.
When you manage multiple domains:
Select the intended controller first.
Open its Widget Settings.
Copy its generated embed code.
Add that code only to the corresponding website.
Do not reuse the code from one controller on an unrelated domain.
This helps keep website settings, audit data, prepared content, and widget behaviour associated with the correct project.
Updating the widget configuration
After the embed code has been installed successfully, most widget changes are managed inside SimplifyAccess.
You can update items such as:
Widget appearance
Button position
Accessibility profiles
Available settings
Enabled tools and plugins
Prepared content
You normally do not need to replace the embed code each time the configuration changes. The installed module loads the current configuration for its connected controller.
Replace the script only when SimplifyAccess explicitly provides a new embed code or your controller setup changes in a way that requires it.
Troubleshooting
The widget does not appear
Check that:
The complete script was copied.
The script was added before the closing
</body>tag.The website change was published.
The script is present in the public page source.
The correct controller embed code was used.
The current domain matches the domain configured in SimplifyAccess.
A browser extension or security policy is not blocking the script.
The widget appears on only some pages
The script may have been added to a page-specific template rather than a shared website-wide layout.
Ask the person responsible for the website to confirm that the script is included on every page where the widget should be available.
The wrong settings appear
The website may be using an embed code copied from another controller.
Compare the installed code with the Embed card for the currently selected controller.
The dashboard does not show a connection
Open the published website after installation and allow the widget to load. Then return to the dashboard and refresh the status.
Also confirm that the published domain matches the controller configuration.
Security and deployment considerations
The person responsible for the website should review the script in accordance with the website’s existing technical and security processes.
Websites using a Content Security Policy may need to allow the SimplifyAccess script source. Any required change should be reviewed and implemented by the website’s developer or security team.
Do not paste account passwords, payment information, or other private account data into the website code. Only the generated embed script is required.
