Text can be difficult to follow because it is small, tightly spaced, or displayed in an uncomfortable typeface. The widget provides four separate adjustments so visitors can change the aspects that matter to them.

These controls change presentation. They do not shorten sentences or replace complex wording.

Increase Font Size

Open Settings and select Font Size. Repeated selections cycle through three enlargement levels and back to the original size.

Larger text can make a paragraph easier to read without using a different content version. It can also create more line breaks and require more scrolling. Start with the first level and increase it only if needed.

Text inside images is not ordinary page text and cannot be enlarged independently by this setting. Browser zoom may be more useful when the entire page needs enlargement.

Increase Letter Spacing

Select Letter Spacing to cycle through three wider spacing levels and the original setting.

This adds room between characters. Try it when letters feel crowded, especially after changing text size. Very wide spacing may make words harder to recognize or cause short labels to wrap, so compare the result rather than automatically choosing the highest level.

Increase Line Height

Select Line Height to try either of the two increased line-spacing levels. Continue cycling to return to the default.

Extra vertical space can help separate neighbouring lines in a long paragraph. It differs from Letter Spacing, which changes the horizontal space between characters.

Try the Dyslexia-Friendly font

Select Dyslexia-Friendly to apply the alternative typeface. Select it again to turn it off.

The setting provides another font choice for visitors who find its letter shapes easier to distinguish. Preferences vary; it is not necessary to have dyslexia to try it, and the font is not guaranteed to improve reading for every person.

Example combination

For a dense information page:

  1. Increase Font Size by one level.
  2. Increase Line Height by one level.
  3. Read a paragraph and check whether you can follow the lines comfortably.
  4. Try Letter Spacing or the alternative font only if further adjustment helps.

Change one setting at a time so you can identify what improves the experience.

Restore the original presentation

Cycle size and spacing controls back to their starting positions and turn the alternative font off. Reset clears the wider set of widget adjustments as well.

If wording is the difficulty, see Using Easy Language. For a quieter reading layout, see Reading in Simplified Page View.
